dwdmWavelength service is primarily a service for other operators and provides high bandwidth over long distances. The service is based on DWDM technology (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing). The wavelength service can be delivered from any WTL node and it offers protocol-transparent transmission of data, telephony, or other traffic with speeds up to 10 Gbit/s (STM-64) per wavelength.

The wavelength service can be ordered as simple point-to-point connections or in a ring structure for capacities ranging from a few 1 channel (1 Lambda), to as many channels/lambda (subject to availability), with flexible contract terms.

A transparent wavelength service means that the customer can retain control over the network and implement custom solutions on top of the wavelength connections from WTL, for example, protection of connections and services or synchronization. WTL’s wavelength service can be combined with co-location which gives the customer the possibility to install transmission equipment in WTL’s nodes.
